Near the southern boundary of the Northern Water Snakes range, according to the 1975 edition of the Peterson Field Guide. Ranges are dynamic though, so they may well have moved south across the Tennessee River into Midland Water Snake territory. Notice the damselfly on the dry part of the rock in the lower photo – he’s a lucky dude if none of the three ever saw him!
