Since my mother died recently, I’ve been going through some old photos and I came across this. I’m pretty sure this is the first photograph I ever took, around 1971 or 1972.

I used my Pop’s camera, a Leica model of some sort, on a tripod for a time exposure of about 10 or 15 seconds. Probably using the fastest F-stop available and about ASA 200. This evening twilight photo was taken on Green Mountain long before any neighborhoods were built. At latitude 34.5 N, it is looking NNW towards the powerline about 100 yards away. I haven’t been able to identify what constellation this is looking at, but Alpha Ursae Minoris (Polaris) is just behind the bush on the right side of the photo.

It sure brings back some wonderful memories!
